MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – At about 8:07 pm, Hawaii Standard Time, resident of the Sunshine State received a shocking message on their smart phones.

It was an emergency alert informing them that a missile was on its way to Hawaii and that they should take immediate shelter.

Well, now we know the alert was sent in error and the U.S. Pacific Command did confirm that there was no impending danger.

But on the other side of the Pacific Ocean, Filipinos also received an emergency alert on their cell phones, warning them that the Yellows (the spinkling of Oppositionists) have gone crazy and were on the loose.  They were advised to be mindful of their surroundings.

As of press time, there has not been any confirmation from Philippine authorities whether or not the alert message was sent in error.

But Filipinos — especially the more than 80 percent who support the Duterte administration — took the alert seriously.

“It’s better to be safe than sorry,” said one Dutertard who spoke on condition of anonymity.
