MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – National poll after national poll, former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas has been in the bottom two, unable to break the barrier that separates him and other contenders to be the next Philippine vice president. This, despite (or is it because of) the fact that incumbent President NoyNoy Aquino has anointed him as successor to the presidential palace.
But Roxas doesn’t seem to be bothered by the polls. In fact, he is very confident that come May, which is when the elections are held, he will become the ‘flavor of the month,’ and eventually win the vice presidency.
In a recent interview, he pointed out that last February, VP Jojo Binay headed the polls — the flavor of the month; in March, it was Senator Grace Poe; and in April, Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte. That leaves him to be the flavor of the month for May, he says. Unless, of course, Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago, comes from behind and climbs to the top of the polls.
The only thing that Roxas is unsure of at this point is what flavor he would like to be: Ube, or Macapuno? Can you help him decide by participating in the poll below?
